The High Court of Delhi will hold written examination for direct recruitment to Delhi Higher Judicial Service on Sunday the 13th December, 2009.
It will be a two stage selection process comprising Written Examination carrying 750 marks and Viva Voce carrying 250 marks.
The written test will comprise two parts, Part I objective and Part II descriptive.
Syllabus for the written examination shall comprise GK, Current Affairs, English Language and topics on Constitution of India, Evidence Act, Limitation Act Code of Civil Procedure, Criminal Procedure Code, Indian Penal Code, Contract Act, Partership Act, Principles Governing Arbitration Law, Specific Relief Act, Hindu Marriage Act, Hindu Succession Act, Transfer of Property Act and Negotiable Instrument Act.

The time-scale of pay of members of the Service is Rs. 16750-20500/- [ Rs.37400-67000 Grade Pay Rs.8900 in new pay scale] . A candidate shall be eligible to appear in the examination if he/she is (a) a Citizen of India, (b) a Law Graduate from a recognised university, (c) a person practicing as an Advocate for not less than 7 years (d) a person who has attained the age of 35 years but not less attained the age of 45 years as on 1st January 2009.

(iii) Trainee Accountants : Candidate should be at least B.Com and Computer savvy, preferably with 1 to   2 years on the job experience in Accounts. (Stipend Rs..6000/- per month).

(iv) Trainee Secretarial Assistants : Candidate should be Graduates with shorthand and typing skills (80/40 wpm) and having drafting skills in English language and computer savvy preferably with 1 to 2 years on the job experience as Secretarial Assistant. (Stipend Rs.6000/- per month).
The candidates at sr. no.( i) to (iv) should be in the age group of 25 to 35 and the selected candidates will be trained on the job in the relevant areas for a period 18 months and paid a stipend as mentioned above.

v) On-the-job Training Programme for Technical Assistants:
a) Photography : Diploma/ITI Certificate holders in Electronics/ Electrical/Wireman. Preference will be given to those who have done basic photography course or having experience in photography/ dark room/studio
b) Film & Video : Diploma/ ITI Certificate holders in Electronics/ Radio/AV/ Electrical/Wireman.
c) Information Technology (IT) : Diploma holders in IT Hardware.

The candidates (for sr. no. v- a to c) in the age group of 18 to 25 and having Diploma/ Certificate from recognized polytechnic/ITIs in the above trades only need apply. (Stipend Rs. 5000/- per month). The selected candidates will be trained on the job in the relevant areas for a period 24 months.

All the above trainees at sr. no. i) to v) will have to execute a Bond to serve NID for a period of 3 years on suitable consolidated salary on contract basis after successful completion of their training period. At the end of the training period a consolidated review of their performance and skills acquired will be assessed and the trainees may also be absorbed in the regular rolls of NID after successful completion of training/during the contract period depending on available regular vacancies. Other factors being equal preference will be given to SC/ST and other reserved categories.
